This is a season of growth. I had a vision this morning. I saw blockages as gates in people’s live that has been keeping them from entering into the place that God has for them. I saw that just on the other side of the door, there was a lot of growth waiting to take place. It was as if God allowed the door to remain shut until this season, because when it now opens, the growth is going to explode into the new pastures beyond.
In fact what I saw was like a beanstalk that exploded with rocket force when the door opened. It was like a dam of water breaking, and the floods of growth exploded into hundreds of acres of land, instantly making those lands that were dry and barren green.
I sense that God has been training, pruning and growing people, but in their past season, they didn’t seem to be taking ground. In this new season, that is about to shift. I see people’s ministries and lives exploding. Even business people are about to take new ground for the Lord. I see people with the character that is required to do great things for the Lord.
Many people start out in ministry and business, but quickly fall away because they do not have the character to withstand in the long run. When trials come, and when the wind and rains come hard, these people are like the man that built his house on the sand - their house is destroyed (Matthew 7:24-27).
I remember years ago, I had a great zeal for the things of the Lord ,but I didn’t have the character to accomplish what was in my heart. I had anointing, but I didn’t have much love. When things would happen, I would lose my temper, or I would do something to sabotage what God was doing in my life.
I believe that things are shifting in this season. I believe that the people who are about to rise in ministry, will have zeal and character. They will live according to the gospel, loving one another, lifting others higher than themselves. Many of the ministers in the past season were like the ones that Paul described in Philippians 1:15-17:
It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defence of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains.
These men and women are self-promoters. They are more interested in being seen, than they are in promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ. These people are more interested in being remembered, than they are in Christ being remembered. They want to be the next William Branham, or the next Benny Hinn. They are consumed with their own identity rather than pleasing God. They want people to wash their feet, instead of washing the feet of others.
They are subtle about it. They may not even realize that they are doing it, but this is what they are doing. There is no reason why we shouldn’t desire to do great things for the Lord, but we must die to all false ambition. I believe that the Lord has allowed the block to be there in many ministries in order to refine character for the season just ahead. If you want to be remembered more, than to preach the gospel it comes out in everything that you do.
As ministers of the gospel, we need to constantly raise others up. We need to lift them into places that they would never be able to get to themselves. We must use the platform that God gives us to help others to get to the same platform. One of the great privileges of my ministry is that I can look and see many young men and women that I have helped to get to the next level in their lives and ministries. This is very rewarding.
We must not be into Kingdom building. Some ministers will help you if you join their organization, or if you pay into their ministry. This is also not right in my mind. We must raise others up and plant churches, not expecting anything in return. I have had the privilege of helping to start many ministries. I feel successful when they can do what they do with little help from me.
The growth that we are going to see in the next season is going to result in the church exploding in North America. The ambition that we have will only be an ambition to see Christ spread and be glorified in the earth. We will not desire honour for honour’s sake, but we will desire to be honoured, because in so doing the Lord will be honoured. His testimony in our lives will honour him. And because we will have the character, the ground that will be taken for Jesus will be astounding.
I remember hearing a story of a man who had been prayed for by AA Allan in Kansas. I have met this man, but I only know him as Brother Manning. He was a church planter. He started over 200 churches. If you met this man, you would not think that he would be the man to do such a thing. This was not because he didn’t have the skill or the wherewithal to do it for he was one of the most humble men I have ever met. It was because he had the character for the assignment.
While Brother Manning was building a church in Kansas, he fell off the roof and damaged his back. He couldn’t get out of bed. Apparently AA Allan walked into the room and declared over him that he would be fine. He didn’t get healed right away, but soon after, he was completely fine. This man was the fruit of Allan’s ministry, and was used mightily to start a couple of hundred churches.
I expect in the next season, that men and women are to rise in this way. The door is about to open. People of character, willing to be forgotten, are about to rise up. Their only ambition will be Christ. This will be supernatural of course. If you are reading this, and feel like you need God to touch you for this assignment, then call out to him. He will touch your life. You will overcome and you will be used mightily.
I declare that every fear and hindrance is as nothing. You will shine brightly for the Lord. You will do great things in the mighty name of Jesus.
You shall ignite on the left and on the right. You shall be filled with a new sound that will break the stony rocks: in the plains, in the mountains and in the seas. You shall be strong and you shall overcome. There is a new wave of glory about to pour out in this season. You are about to hear the sound of revival waves break in the cities. We have had a taste in the last season, but in the new season, there is more coming. There is a company of soldiers arising with fire in their eyes. They shall be resolute, focused and ready to aim their swords in the direction that the Lord is sending them.
There is a new meekness rising in the body of Christ. No longer will they run when the battle grows hard. Churches will grow and the believers will become mature. They will not run when offence rises, but they will walk the way of love.
I see many Christians with open wounds on their arms and legs; and they are licking them. I see the Lord coming applying the balm to the wounds. Hearts are about to be healed. Those that have been living by their own plans will finally realize that they cannot succeed outside of Christ. They will die to their own way and rise mighty in the Lord.
Mightiness only comes through meekness. It is up to the Lord to use you as his mighty weapon. I declare that you will have the courage to wait upon the Lord. As you do, you will rise on the wings of eagles to declare God’s voice, like the prophets of old. You will be like the trumpet that blows in the city, and the people will begin to fear their God.
The meek ones are those who are eager to be used by God, but he is saying rest, and wait and in due time, your vision shall come to pass. It isn’t that you won’t be fruitful in the moment. Your fruitfulness doesn’t come through what you do. It comes from listening to the voice of God. He has prepared in advance the works that he has for your life, but you will only enter into them through resting in his voice. Your best laid plans are nothing. They mean nothing. Only what God has for you will last.
I declare that you will enter into his rest. I declare that you are now becoming mighty in the Lord. I declare that you will be like John the Baptist, who was the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Make Ready the Way of the Lord, Make HIs paths straight (Matthew 3:3). You will be the levellers of the mountains, and the ones that fill in the valleys. There is a remnant rising in the meekness of the Lord. Their only desire will be to please their God. Upon his chest they will rest and their hearts will be filled with peace and joy.
Faithful Prophets will rise in the land that will be like Samuel who walked faithfully with God all the days of his life. They will rejoice in the goodness of the Lord. They will be people who are greatly blessed in the Lord; and who understand his kindness, and his goodness. When they speak, they will be firm, but they will show great love, compassion and kindness. They will be mighty in the face of sin. They will be kind, but they will show the truth of sin. They will persuade the people regarding the goodness of God, and they will bring a remnant back to the cross.
The cross will be their shield and their weapon. They will glory in the cross. Their sights and all their gaze will be upon the cross. Everywhere they go, they will see it. They will understand the power of the blood of Jesus, and they will become great deliverers.
The earth is excited about these sons and daughters that are to rise. There will be a new movement, much like the Huguenots of France. These will be people that experience the transfiguration of the Lord. Multi-generations will rise in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They will be people of encounter. They will be people of visions and dreams. I am seeing new communities rising into destiny. I am seeing prosperity returning to the Land. These people will be resourceful and they will be champions in commerce. They will breathe the true prosperity of the King and they will take care of one another.
Let’s begin to pray and ask God to make us these faithful ones. May the Lord start with you and your family and may you become the mighty one that only God could create.
Recently, I heard a person in their later years say: that they hoped that God’s plan would start for their life very soon, because they had been waiting for it a long time. For me, such a statement doesn’t even make sense. God’s plan for our lives is laid out in scripture. There are different ways for us to fulfill his call, but Jesus told us what to do in Matthew 28:18-20.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
We just need to get up and go. When I first began preaching the gospel, it was really to anyone who would listen. I prayed for people, and prophesied over people in coffee shops, restaurants and malls. I didn’t have to have a platform or credentials in ministry to do this. I have all of that now, but it didn't start that way.
I did go to Bible School when I was young and became a minister, but this really wasn’t why I have a ministry. Jesus called me to collect a harvest of souls through a dream when I was sixteen years old. My heart began to burn for souls. I didn’t know how I was going to reach them but I began to try.
I was a forerunner in social media ministry. As soon as Facebook started, I just began to share my thoughts of encouragement with anyone who was listening. I began to prophesy over people in many countries. Before you knew it, I was ministering to thousands of people on Facebook alone. You can do this too. God will open up the way before you, but you must be willing to take a step toward advancing your own ministry. In my house, I have a sign on my wall that says, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” I have now been to seventeen nations to preach and have gone on almost one hundred missionary trips. Each one began with one step of faith. If I can do it, so can you.
The Lord might make suggestions, but he isn’t going to be the one that makes your feet to step out and go. You have to make that decision. You have to get off your couch, shut off the TV, and decide what it is you are going to do for Christ.
Each one of us has an opportunity to do great things for the Lord, but not all of us are going to do it. The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) is interesting, in that each person who was given gold by the land owner, had the opportunity to increase it. But the man who was given only one talent, just buried it in the sand. When the landowner returned, the man was not excused for his ineptness and incapability. He reported to his boss with excuses and judgement for his employer’s heart. His talent was taken from him, and was instead given to the man who had increased his five talents by five more. The man who did nothing and made excuses was thrown into darkness.
I believe that we do need to look into our lives and judge ourselves. We need to ask God what it is he would have us do. We must work for him. We cannot afford to sit idly by during our lives, making excuses as to why we did not reach people all around us for Him. If we do not know what to do, or how to reach the world for the Lord, we have a helper called the Holy Spirit, (John 14:26) who will guide us into the things that God has prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
If you don’t know how to minister in other places and other nations, then join with someone who does. Many ministers go into foreign lands. Most would be willing to bring you with them and teach you how it is done. And never mind only going to foreign lands. Many ministers go to the streets of your own cities to feed the poor, and lead people to Christ. I am sure that they would be more than willing to have you help them. In my own ministry, I have helped dozens of people step into their destiny, by just having them come along with me. God will open up a way, but you have to be a part of it.
Stop burying your talents with excuses. You will not have an excuse that will satisfy the Lord. I want to appear before him and hear him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21).” My entire motivation is to appear before him in Zion and receive my reward. I don’t want to be a man with one talent; but I want to be a man who multiplies many talents.
If that is your prayer, (and I pray that it is), then may God touch you today. May you begin to move in ways that you have never moved in before. May God appear to you, and speak to you. May he open up your ears to hear more clearly, and may he baptize you with a Holy Boldness to speak the gospel message - in a way that will set nations on fire. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). After all, Christ is in you, the Hope of Glory.
People will tell you not to write articles telling people not to do this or not to do that, but I am going to write one anyway. Over the years I have seen a lot of good behaviour and a lot of bad behaviour in social media. Facebook in particular is a place where I experienced much of what I am talking about today. I pray that this will help you to engage people more effectively.
1. Don’t argue – There are times in social media when people make comments that don’t rest well inside of me. I delete them. From experience, I have learned that just because a person ask a question doesn’t mean they are asking it to be answered. You can feel something behind the question. There is a question behind the question, and the spirit of it isn’t good. At one time I would engage such people but found that it did more damage than good. I lost a lot of friends as result. People would begin to join the argument and before you know it I was blocking three and four people from writing on my wall. Social media is awesome but it is also shallow. This shallowness comes out quickly when people begin to argue. Therefore avoid arguments if you can.
2. Don’t engage the trolls – There are some people that don’t mean to be trolls but they become trolls nonetheless, and then there are people who are trolls. These people feel the need to police your content. They will speak on your walls only when they dislike what you are saying. After nine years of ministering on Facebook, I can recognize these kind of folks a mile off. When they write on my wall and I don’t like it I delete it. This gets some people upset but I don’t really care. If people want to make negative statements they can do so on their own wall. I feel that I am protecting not just myself but my followers when I do such a thing.
3. Don’t feel the need to engage everyone – When you have thousands of people following you on social media, it isn’t possible to engage everyone all of the time. Most people understand this but some do not. Engage people on your own terms and when you feel comfortable doing so.
4. Don’t hide behind a horse profile pic – I know I am going to stir some folks with this comment but people trust you more when you have a real picture of yourself as a profile pic. There are many accounts out there where people use pics of animals, or flowers or trees to depict themselves. An example of this is: when you go through their profile there are often no real pics of the person, or there is one from 1982. And before you start writing me to tell me all the reasons why you can’t share a picture, please, be blessed. I have no desire to argue with you on the topic. I just find people who don’t share real pics of themselves a bit untrustworthy.
5. Don’t sleep with your phone – I simply mean don’t always be available to people. People will drain the energy from your life. You don’t have to be available 24/7. You can tell people that you are busy and you will get back to them. You don’t have to respond to everyone who writes you. For me that would be impossible. People will try to communicate but it doesn’t mean you have to continually be there for them.
6. Don’t be demanding – There are some people who think that because they can reach you, then you should be available for them, and their every need. They get upset when you don’t respond to them. They think they know you, but they don’t know you. They also ask personal questions that are not appropriate to be answered.
7. Don’t just follow people you think will do something for your life – I have had people follow me for a season, and have later learned that it wasn’t really about relationship, but rather it was about what I could do for them. Once what I could do for them was done then so was the relationship. This is not real.
8. Present good content – If you want to build a following, having good content will help your ministry. Whatever it is you are good at present in a packaged form. If you do great videos, then do videos. If you are a great cook and have a recipe to share, then share recipes. Do a blog and present your writings. If you are an artist share your art. Share a good joke now and then.
Job 33:15-16 (Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition): “By a dream in a vision by night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, and they are sleeping in their beds: Then he openeth the ears of men, and teaching instructeth them in what they are to learn.”
This version is a very old rendering of this scripture; but I find that it is the most interesting translation of this verse. I want to share with you some of the thoughts that I have on prayer and dreaming. As this scripture says, I believe that the night hours are times when God can provide guidance to us for our daily lives.
This passage says that when men are asleep at night, God opens their ears by a dream in a vision, in order to teach or to instruct. I find this is a very interesting way to describe the experience that I have when God speaks to me through dreams. There are times that I know that my dreams are from God. The information becomes almost perfect. I can feel his presence in the dream; and in these times I hear in such a way that I know that I know that God just spoke to me.
A long time ago I learned to ask God questions before I went to sleep. I don’t do this every night, but there are times when I have issues that I am dealing with that really need God’s wisdom and instruction. So before I settle for the night, I silence my mind. I become quiet and I begin to ask the Lord to guide me through a dream as I sleep. He never fails to answer me.
Here’s an example of how this works for me: recently, God revealed to me through dreams that he wants me to move into a bigger home for my family. In one dream he showed me that my time was up in my present house. Once I determined where he wanted me to search for my house, I began to asking him to guide me. I needed a house at a certain price that could fit my growing family, but I couldn’t find such a house on the market. Most of these houses were generally $100,000 more than what I could pay.
Through research, I discovered the best option for me was to build a new home. I found a development that was in the exact kind of area where my wife and I wanted to live, and was also in the price range we wanted to pay. It had enough bedrooms and the layout was perfect for our big family. I put a small deposit down to have the house built, but then, this is when I got frightened.
One of my friends told me that the developer that I was working with was known as the worse developer in the region. He insisted that we shouldn’t do the deal. I decided to step back from the deal.
I started to search again, but everywhere else I looked the houses just were not what we wanted or they were outside of our price range. One day I said to my wife “well the lot that we currently live on is big. Perhaps what we should do is just expand the house.” So I sat down and drew up a mock sketch of what an expansion of our current property would look like. I called a contractor and asked him to give us a price on what such a project would cost.
That night while I was in bed sleeping, I had a dream. Jesus appeared to me as my pastor. He walked up to me. I had my sketch of the renovations in my hand. He didn’t even look at it. He said to me “your previous plan was better.” Again, I tried to show him my plan but he was not interested in looking at it, and just continued on his way!
I awoke feeling sad, and, to be honest with you, a little annoyed that Jesus would not look at my plan. But in my heart, I heard God speak; and he said, “I can’t bless the plans you have for your own life, but only the plans that I have for your life.” It took me a few hours to get over the pain, but I did. With this, I decided to go back to the developer that my wife and I had considered in the beginning. We then found another option that fit perfectly for us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
One of the blessings of the Christian life is that God will speak to those who seek him with all their hearts, souls and minds (Jeremiah 29:13). He does this for me and he will for you as well. The great thing is, God is interested in every part of your life. He will give you wisdom for every decision that you have to make. If you will seek him for answers in prayer, he will answer you. One of the ways he speaks is through dreams. I pray that you will be open to him speaking to you in this way. It is so exciting when he does.
Over the years I have seen the glory train many times, but recently I saw it again. I had a dream in early December that there were new train lines running through my city. The fare was quite cheap, but there were some who were not able to pay. I asked the conductor where the train was headed, and he told me down to Riverside. So I am expecting to see God move in incredible ways again this year. Something new is going to begin and it is going to be remembered. What will occur will become foundational for the next twenty years.
My city of Ottawa is building a New Light Rail Train System which is to be completed this year in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. Stage 2 of the project begins in 2018. I just learned today (about a month after I had this dream) that one of the planned lines will end in Riverside, (an Ottawa neighbourhood). God is speaking, but who is listening? Get ready for a new level of glory to come to the church!
This year, God is going to download strategies into his people that will increase them financially. Pay attention to your gut instincts, or your sixth sense. The Lord is going to speak by the Holy Spirit and words of knowledge will come. Those people who are listening are going to hear things that if they will follow through on, will prosper them in incredible ways. I see people even getting wealthy through the stock market this year. When this revelation came to me, I got very excited because God is about to bring the money of the nations into the hands of Christians. Christians will be known as wise and understanding when it comes to the ways of money.
I feel that there are some that are about to experience deliverance from spirits that are holding them back from financial blessing. I saw an amazing house in my dream. The first time I saw it, there was a man living there all alone. I noticed a picture of him on the wall, where there was an aggressive figure hovering over him. This was a generational spirit that oppressed him and kept blessing from flowing into him. And then I saw the house again; but this time it was filled with great blessing and the aggressive spirit was gone; and so was the picture! Your deliverance time is here! Get ready for God to bless you in new ways! Get ready for increase. Get ready for your house to be filled with new glory, because the enemy can no longer hold you.
Yet, in order to enter into the things that God has for you in this next season, God will begin to do heart surgery on your life. Some of us are going to feel very heavy in the initial phases of this new change like a patient receiving anesthetic. You may even feel like a heaviness is coming over you because of the changes that are taking place in your life. Let God do his work in you now and watch the changes that start growing as a result by June and July. Some of you will be living in situations next autumn that you never imagined you would be living in. Great favour and prosperity will be coming to you. But you will have to access this by faith. Some of the things that God wants to give you are so great, that this will result in you having to be completely changed in your mindset in order to step into it.
God is about to move in the market place by miracles, signs and wonders. I saw this in a dream where miracles were taking place in coffee shops. Gold dust was appearing in abundance on people’s hands. As they saw these signs and wonders, it actually opened up the people to receive prayer in Jesus’ name. We also began to see people healed of all kinds of sicknesses and diseases! I declare that this is the season of many coming to Christ supernaturally.
Starting in the month of January God is releasing new mantles. I had a DREAM where I was in a shoe store in heaven and I saw dozens of pairs of glorious heaven-made shoes. There were shoes there that were absolutely stunning and available for those who are willing to pay the price. You will receive God’s power within you to achieve God’s destiny for your life. As you seek him in this season I believe that God is about to release new thought patterns to you so that you may enter into greater fulfillment and destiny. He wants to bless you and use you for his glory.
My prayer for you today is that everything that God has in store for your life will come to pass. I pray that every obstacle, every attack of the enemy will cease, so that you will soar like the eagle. I see God destroying the effect that time has had on your life. Things in this season are going to accelerate. You will accomplish things very quickly. What would have been normal over four years you will now accomplish in one. You are going to get a return on the time that was stolen from you by the enemy.
