If you have ever read my writings before, you will know that one of the ways that I hear God speak is through number patterns. I don’t know about your experience, but often times I will see the same numbers over and over again. I tend to think that this is God speaking to me. I begin to pray and ask him what he means by what he is showing me.
Many people come up to me and tell me that there are times they see 1111 or 555. I have seen these, but I also have seen 909. For me, this pattern has come to represent the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, with me in the middle. The two nines on each side are like eagles wings for the believer. These are what help us to soar into the great destiny that God has for our lives.
I feel that God is about to release a new wave of his Holy Spirit, and many believers are about to experience a new impartation of glory. If you believe all things are possible, then you are about to rise up on the wings of eagles and minister in ways that you may not be used to doing before.
Throughout my Christian life, I have heard Christians debate the importance of character and power in a believer’s life. I have heard some people say that it is more important to have character than it is to have power, and then other believers just tend to be about power and don’t worry about character at all.
The truth is, we need to seek the Holy Spirit to have a fullness in both power and character. We must allow the Lord to bring healing to the broken places of our soul-man so that we can become stronger. We need to mature into the thoughts of God for our lives. We must not allow ourselves to be people who are easily offended or angered. We must be patient and kind. The Love of God must be the hallmark of all of our lives.
I have heard people talk about their encounters with angels and heaven, and yet I have felt that they still don’t love me. Many charismatics think they will have heavenly rewards based on the revelations that they have received. The truth is, I have had more encounters than most people; I have experienced the power of God, and amazing miracles, but these don’t set me apart. What sets me apart is the love of Jesus and his humility pulsing in my heart.
Many people will experience Jesus only through the love that you and I release to them. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Paul states: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”
It is imperative that we find the way of Love. 1 John 4:20 says, If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” We must find the way of Love.
The fruits of the Spirit are key to the successful Christian life. They always and only originate in the heart of God. We must turn to him and find the way of deep intimacy. As we bask in his presence, we are consumed by him. HIs fire burns within us; and his glory overwhelms our senses, so that we are transformed into his glorious nature. Only time with God will make us like him in his glory. His glory is his kindness, patience, love, humility, joy and peace. This is one wing of the eagle and we must operate in it to be effective.
And yet, the second wing of the 909 (which I believe is just as important), is the wing of the gifts of the Spirit. Part of rising into the things of the Holy Spirit, is to become like Christ in the earth. We are to release the things of the Holy Spirit into the lives of the people we meet. Jesus said in John 7:38, “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
Out of these rivers will flow the 909 anointing into the hearts of the broken people we meet. The gifts of the Holy Spirit include healing, prophecy, miracles – and really everything outlined in 1 Corinthians 12. We should expect to operate in the gifts. We should eagerly desire to operate in the greater gifts (1 Corinthians 12:27-30), which include the apostolic and prophetic. This is my desire. Is it yours?
I met a man a day or so ago, who told me that he had a vision of an eagle flying toward him that carried gold on each of its wings. Immediately, I thought of Isaiah 40:31, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on the wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
I declare that the eagles are rising with healing in their wings. This is the gold. This is the power of God. This is the hope of all nations. This is the peace and joy of the Father in the hearts of broken man. God is sending his gold with his eagles. Those that are immersed in his presence are about to arise with healing for the nations.
They will be a part of the 909 revival. They will be vessels used by God to bring the love of Jesus, and the gifts of his presence into broken man. I see them flying over the mountains and the seas, and resting wherever there is a person in need. They will not be bound to nations, but they will fly above and see with the eyes of God.
1 Timothy 5:24-25: “Some men’s sins are clearly evident, preceding them to judgment, but those of some men follow later. Likewise, the good works of some are clearly evident, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.”
Have you ever felt that people get away with the sin that they have committed? While it may seem that way, it is simply not the case. God is in charge; and at the end of time all will stand in judgment over heaven and earth. Justice will prevail. God will give a man full measure for what they did for him, or against him. His justice is certain. There will be no escaping the hand and justice of God.
I am not condemning anyone with these thoughts, but I rather suggest that we need to be more aware of how God’s economy works. The person that you think is getting away with murder really is not going to get away with murder. There is no escaping the justice of God. The Lord will deal with their sin; but what we need to pray is that he will deal with it with his grace and not his punishment.
Our prayer always for those captured in sin is that they will be set free. We must pray that God’s grace will wash away their deepest sins. I am not sure that some Christians understand God’s heart on this. Even the worse dictators - the people that we may think deserve punishment more than grace - we must still pray they receive grace. Eternity without the goodness of the Lord is not something we wish on anyone. We Christians need to get this into our hearts. We never rejoice in the death of someone who does not have Christ.
At the same time, we do not believe that everyone will make it to heaven. God’s grace is greater than our understanding of it; and yet it is true that some people will not make it. However, I think we will be surprised by who does make it. I had a dream recently where I was in heaven. There were people in that room that I thought did not deserve to be there. When I noticed them, the words that came from my mouth surprised me. I said that God’s grace is greater than all sin, and there is nothing that he can’t forgive us from. I declared that in the coming harvest, there would be souls who many would have written off into hell; but yet God saved them, nonetheless.
Let’s look at another part of this scripture: “The good works of some are clearly evident, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.”
I don’t know about you, but there are times that I need to remind myself of this truth. There are some folks in the Kingdom, who seem to get more honour than others. Perhaps you have done many good works that have not been seen. This is not something to get discouraged about. God sees you and he knows what you have done. Nothing that you truly do for the Lord will escape his sight. There will come a reward for your diligence in the Kingdom.
Perhaps people have even gone out of their way to look better than you in the eyes of various leaders or employers. Perhaps they have spoken against you, or they have overlooked you. Perhaps you deserved to be promoted, but they decided that you are not the one at this time. Perhaps they favour others more than you. I am here to declare that it doesn’t matter.
It really doesn’t matter what man thinks of you. You just have to continue to pursue the Lord with abandon. Do not let the criticism or disrespect of others stop you from loving them or even accomplishing that great vision in your heart. Just continue to pursue the Lord and in due time you shall receive the just reward.
Ultimately, our reward is simply the presence of Jesus in our heart. We must be content with his peace inside of us. When it is absent, we need to pursue him more. We must lay aside all the trappings of man’s thoughts and enter into only the thoughts of God for our lives.
This past weekend, I spoke to a friend who is wise. I told him how I felt that I had been overlooked by another man’s ministry, and that he used me to accomplish his own ambition. My friend gently reminded me that this person probably didn’t even know what they were doing. Then he went further and rebuked me for my own ambition in wanting to be remembered by man. He was right of course.
I heard someone say once, that God hides the righteousness of his friends from them. This is just another way of saying “forgetting what is behind, and looking toward the prize (Philippians 3:13-14). We must dare to be forgotten. I preach on this all the time, because I am preaching mostly to myself. I have not yet arrived to this selfless place, but it is my great desire to arrive there. I want to be able to lay down my life, so that the Kingdom is established gloriously.
Another friend of mine once likened the kingdom to a smaller battle in a larger war. He said, “Darren, I would gladly lay my life down upon the barbed-wire fence, in order for you to run across my back into the enemies’ camp - where you would bring the victory in Jesus’ name.” I have tried to live this way the best I can since I have heard this truth. Yet, it is a process in which I have further to go.
I pray for you today, that you will also be inspired by these words. These two thoughts of reward and judgement might not seem to flow together, and yet they do. I pray that you will have the grace to love those that seem evil in the world’s eyes, and I pray that you will have the patience to wait for your own eternal reward.
I am prophesying today that there is coming: a wave of courage into the church. There are people right now who are about to stand up for Christ like they have not done so before in their lives. I declare that many Davids are about to arise; who will not see the mountains of fear that lay in the valley’s below, but they will see with heaven’s eyes, and begin to declare mountains into the sea.
Many people want to think that the weapon that David used during the battle with Goliath was the reason that he won that battle. I don’t believe so. The battle was won because David was courageous. He saw with heaven’s gaze and did not fear the giants in the land. The weapon that he used was a sling and a stone, because this is all he knew how to use. The weapon would have been nothing in his hand - if there was no courage in his heart.
The Word from God strengthens people. It gives them courage to face the trials and tribulations that come their way. A friend of mine recently testified about how he had gone through health challenges in the last year. He was diagnosed with cancer and his hip had to be replaced. This was a man who had been healthy all of his life. He had never faced health issues like this before.
He told me that when he learned about these things, his mind began to race. He said that he began to plan for the worst, but God had other plans. His heart was strengthened by the peace of God that filled him. He knew that no matter the challenge the peace of God would be in his heart.
A person who is courageous does not concern themselves with the mountains that are front of them. They can see past these, into the eyes of the Lord. In his eyes, is every answer that you will ever need to face all the things that you encounter. He will speak to you, and he will tell you that “YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR (Romans 8:37). He will inspire you to believe, in the face of all the opposition that comes your way.
Perhaps you are struggling financially, and God is telling you not to worry; but to trust, and step out in new ways in this season. Your financial situation is simply a Goliath. Believe God, and your victory will be secure. You don’t have to worry about tomorrow; because tomorrow will take care of its own problems (Matthew 6:34). God wants you to believe for more, and this takes courage. He wants to grow your faith, but you will have to flex the muscle to achieve the things that he will inspire you to do.
A man came to Jesus with a demon-possessed son and said, “But if you can do anything take pity on us, and help us (Matthew 9:22).” Jesus looked at him and said, “”If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for the one who believes.” And then the boys’ father responded to Jesus saying, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
When we lack faith and courage, we must always turn to the Lord. He will strengthen us in the face of our adversity. He will give us hope when there seems to be no hope. If you don’t believe, be transparent with the Lord. Honesty with God is the best way to breakthrough.
Perhaps you don’t believe that God can heal you. Then tell him. Perhaps you don’t believe that God can provide for you. Tell him. Tell him when you have fear. Tell him when you are anxious. Tell him when everything inside of you is following fear rather than faith. Your honesty with God will produce the result.
I believe that as we become transparent before him, he will give us courage. The disciples in the book of Acts prayed for boldness (Acts 4:23-31), and they received boldness when the Holy Spirit filled them. Their courage came from God. So our eyes need to be above, that’s where our help will come from.
Like you, there are times I also lack courage to live the life that God has predestined for me. Yet I will not let my fear stop me from achieving the things that God has for me to do. I always pray that God will break all fear off me, so that I can stand safely even in the places where “Goliath” taunts me. I pray for the courage to speak in the face of the enemy’s plans. Our words from the Lord are like David's stones. They may be light-weight, but when they are inspired by the Holy Spirit, they have the ability to bring the giants down.
I have had visions of stadiums that are filled with souls clamouring for God. I have had visions that millions will be gathered into the Kingdom of our Lord. Such a vision will take a people to rise in the face of the Politically Correct philosophy of our time (which represents a different gospel than we proclaim). The Jesus that these people preach I cannot see in the Bible. I declare that you will be filled with fire from on high that will cleanse you from all lies, so that you will stand like the powerful vessel that you are in the Lord.
I pray that your life will be shaken by the truth, and that the truth will set you free to become the instrument that God will have you to be. May you become like David, and may you have the courage to face whatever comes your way - and to speak the truth in every moment. May the mountains tumble before you, and may the serpents be cut in two. I declare that it will be so in Jesus’ mighty name.
