Oh the Love of Jesus that comes in his presence. There is such acceptance and feeling of fire inside his drawing. It is this warmth that God uses to bring us into the embrace of his loving arms. If you don’t know what I am talking about then there is another encounter for you in Jesus. The peace of God that transcends understanding is the fire that I speak of.
Many of you have had encounters with this love. Perhaps there have been many storms that you have gone through when the love of Jesus inside is so strong that you don’t even notice what it is you are going through.
Our Savior died on Calvary in order to bring us peace. 1 Peter 3:18, “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.”
Being home with God is the walking in the Garden in the cool of the day encounter that Adam must had. This feeling of contentment and joy at all times. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead brought the possibility of man being safe in God’s arms again.
Jesus was the warrior King who came into the earth to rescue the orphan child who was imprisoned by the evil god of this world Satan. Those who embrace Christ have someone by the grace of God risen above the devil’s veil of unbelief. He comes at the heart of man like a fiery brigade of soldiers. His demonic minions with voices raised act like a horde of fiery sword trying to bring ruin to all mankind. 1 Corinthians 4:4, “4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God (NLT).”
But the glory of His peace has a way of creeping in when you least expect it. It was the visitation of his peace that saved me. It was the fire of that first encounter that made me feel safe to seek Him for other encounters. Each encounter brought me deeper into his majesty, his glory, and his kingdom.
It starts with a bended knee and heart that says, “Come Lord Jesus.” It is a surrendered heart, an unfolded heart that confesses the sin of the darkest moments and is freed from it. Confession leads to a new life filled with the grace of God. Confession is the flag of liberty. It is the fire of freedom. When my heart unfolds before the living God and I unbury my treasures of darkness, my God has a way of taking these dirty rags and giving me new freedom. He dresses me in luxury and his veil over my life becomes purity and hope.
The fire of God’s liberty is real. It isn’t like the freedom the world speaks of. The world doesn’t understand the freedom of Christ. It is ignorant of true freedom. Freedom is not about doing whatever evil comes into one’s heart. True freedom is the ability to stay within the realm of God’s protection and truth. Only by the Holy Spirit living within us and walking the path of the Spirit are we able to satisfy our Lord (Romans 8:26-34). We might not understand the steps the Lord guides us into but each one brings us into the realm of greater freedom and liberty.
I pray for you today and ask the Holy Spirit to come near your heart. May you be free from the pain that binds you. May the Lord show you the grace of his presence and may the fire of God’s peace burn inside of you always. I ask the Lord to give you the strength to lay down your earthly weapons and to pick up the truth of God’s word so that you may rest continually. Blessings to you…
